I’ve been reading the War of Art. Here’s something that struck me today…
“Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do.”
“Reistance is experienced as fear; the degree of fear equates to the strength of resistance. Therefore, the more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that that enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul. That is why we feel so much resistance. If it means nothing to us, there’d be no resistance.”
I like this way of looking at fear, but it still feels hard to face fears and move forward! What fears are you facing? What enterprise are you pursuing?
Hi Bonnie,
Nice blog & and it’s nice to see you guys here! I too have been dealing much with fear as related to my creativity. Another good book, if you haven’t already discovered it: “Art & Fear: Observations On the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking.”
Be well,
Ryan
Hi Ryan, great to hear from you! Thanks for the book idea. I will definitely check it out. I hope you are well! Blessings, Bonnie
